Module 11: Online vs Traditional Advertising- Post 1

 Traditional vs. Online Advertising

Researching the traditional and online ads, I discovered how differently they are and how they work, even though they have the same purpose, to reach people and pursue an action. Traditional advertising includes tv commercials, magazines, billboards on roads and newspapers. These methods have been around for decades and many customers still recognize them and trust them for a good or service advertised. Online advertising exists on digital platforms such as social media, email campaigns, engine ads and sponsored content. Both types of advertising try to persuade, but the way they do it and how consumers interact with them are different.

An important fact about traditional advertising is how it is directed to a broad audience rather than a highly specific group. As an example, a bill board on the freewayis seen by anyone who passes by an ad on a magazine can be seen by anyone who grabs it. This is a massive way of putting information out there, but it's harder to tell exactly who they reached to and measure the response. In online advertising precise targeting is controlled by sending the ads to a particular age, location and interests categories. Platforms like facebook, instagram allow advertisers to reach specific audiences, which make online ads more cost effective and measurable.

Another difference is the ability to track how effective each ad is. Traditional ads can’t be measured exactly how many people watched the TV, or actually saw tha ad in that magazine. In online ads analytics are provided, where you can watch how many people interacted with your ad or even took action right away. The biggest advantage of online ads vs traditional ads is also the versatility of testing multiple versions of ads at the same time or shorter timing.

Some important similarities that are required in either type of ad, is that they both need strongs visuals, clear message and a strategy to reach the audience. In both ads the principles are the same: capture attention, show value, and encourage action. Both ads rely on branding, techniques of presentation in order to build trust and recognition.

1. Traditional Advertising-Billboard on Freeway 78, fits in this description because it cna be seen by all different groups of people.

2. Online Advertising -An example of the many beauty ads I get on my facebook feed, directed to a group with selected age and interests.

Week1: My Blog Theme

Hi I'm Claudia(Clau), and this is my first blog for CSIT 155 this fall of 2025.       I choose this notable pink as my blog theme, it started just as I was scrolling over the theme page and almost at the bottom, the pink caught my attention. I did see one or two other themes that I can related to, but this was the one for many reasons. I saw the bright pink color at the top and the pink titles with black body paragraphs and it just looked perfect. This made me feel interested in reading it, because it look organized easy to read and not long, which is what I would like to transmit to others when reading it. The details are perfect and in great balance of color, not all pink in fact has a black color and white color which creates a balance.       The color of pink has always resonated with myself, the color itself is a bright and certainly it's not easily mistaken for another color. The color pink makes you feel a sense of happi...

Week Five- FaceBook Page

FaceBook Page     Setting up this new Facebook page, yes, it was a little bit challenging. I remember I did this already, but it has been a few years, and now it looked different; it had fewer steps,I still had to follow the directions, and did as it said. No, I didn't have to set up a personal page; I just went on my personal profile and created a new page. I'm excited to learn more to use this page for my influencer business.

Week Five- Research and Post

Facebook Research      These businesses, I think they are mostly on personal branding; they are using it to share their lifestyle, products, and services. They also use Facebook to work with brands and to monetize by uploading content every day and multiple times a day.  I think they are doing great, they have from thousands to millions of followers, this makes me think they are doing it right, they have changed their lives and achieved goals by using their Facebook. It's of course personal preference, not all content, I can agree to some of it creates controversy, which is not quite inspirational for me.  I've been following this account, and they can post anything from 3 to 20 times a day, with a variety of stories, reels, posts of photos, or even going live. They are very active and stay on top of the stories list.  Most of them have a very clean cover photo, feel welcome to a family or to them, this creates trust in my point of view, and yes, they have ...
