Most platforms like Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Youtube and others are used to collect detailed data of the users, which allows advertisers to be more precise on the targeting.
One of the places paid advertising is used most effectively is brand awareness, this happens when short videos are used to introduce new products or trends to audiences. The algorithm of these platforms like TikTok and Reels pushes sponsored content to users who may not be actively searching for a product, but match the behaviors of an ideal customer. Paid advertising in retargeting is also highly effective when someone visits a website and doesn’t complete a purchase, platforms like Facebook and others show ads for the same items later on which work as a reminder which might lead to a purchase.
I think paid social media advertising is effective because it delivers the right advertising to the right audience at the right time with the right interests to ultimately complete a sale. If used strategically it can help all businesses increase engagement and visibility.
